VIDEO: 2012 Republican Candidates on Gay Rights

The 2012 Republican candidates squared off yesterday in New Hampshire, and as expected, most of them expoused the same anti-LGBT rhetoric the party is known for.  It is important now more than ever to look at the candidates' views on gay marriage, Don't Ask, Don't Tell repeal, ENDA, DOMA, etc. before you vote.  Also, please sign the petition to get the Republican Party to change its anti-LGBT platform here.

Some highlights

  • Almost all support a Constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages (even the supposed moderate Mitt Romney)
  • Michelle Bachmann said she'd have to confer with the Commander-in-Chief before repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell (but she def wants to)
  • Most stated their opposition to Don't Ask, Don't Tell repeal in the first place, but only some (the crazier ones) would repeal the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

THAT is why it is so important that the Republican Party change its anti-LGBT platform.  If elected, a Republican president would surely push back the gay rights movement 4-8 years.
