Salt Lake City Approves Gay Rights Law, Mormons Lend Support

Yes, you have read that headline correctly. Salt Lake City, Utah has approved an ordinance that bans discrimination against gays in housing and employment. The Church of Latter Day Saints wrote a letter to the city that stated their support for the ordinance but also clearly detailed their opposition to gay marriage. This marks the first time that the Mormons have formally supported a piece of gay rights legislation. This will hopefully help make the case for ENDA when Congress is expected to debate the bill in the near future.
