Why Marriage Matters

I'm sitting in history class right now. We are talking about what people in their early 20's and 30's think about doing. The students said working. The teacher was looking for marriage. We then led on to a lengthy discussion about the institution of marriage and how important it is to society and culture.

He said that marriage is one the "happiest days" of a person's life. It does nothing but point out to gay people like myself that my society STILL does not wish me to have one of the "happiest days" of my life. We are surrounded by marriage every day. It is a great milestone in our lives.

Class, friends, family, work, news, television, music, strangers, men, women, children, black, white, Asian, etc. etc. etc.

Everyone talks about marriage everywhere. It IS important.
